Hello there

My name is Cali

I'd like to start by saying if you haven't yet, take a look at my Publications, Content Strategy, and PR & Ghostwriting page or my personal blog - I'd like to think my work speaks for itself.

But if you're also interested in who I am and how I might fit in with your team, then this page is the right place to be.

I've loved writing since I was a kid, although I will admit my first love was dinosaurs. My first paying job was as a young adult reporter for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram newspaper at the age of 14. One summer in junior high I wrote 100+ page sequel to The Mummy (the 1999 remake, although I carry a deep fondness for Boris Karloff). Since elementary school I have designed, drawn, and written a line of thank you and birthday cards, most including original comedic poems, with "CalMark" on the back.

As a child I loved learning so much that I attended museum school and zoo school during the afternoons and weekends and spent summers in a program called "College for Kids". I was very bad at sports, though.

Today, I am a pretty serious murderino, listening to dark podcasts and absorbing articles (Skip Hollandsworth is my journalist crush) to the point that I've single-handedly won a true crime trivia contest. Want to know some gruesome fun facts about serial killers? How much time do you have?

    And in closing

Outside of the office, I am an avid amateur aerialist (think Cirque du Soleil). I do silks, hammock, trapeze, contortion, and lyra. I've trained across the US and perform locally in Austin. When I leave work I go straight to the aerial studio and don't go home until I am happily exhausted and bruised.

I believe flexibility is important for body and mind.

If you still want to know more about me..

    Write me a note!

I guarantee I am more interesting in real life than I am on this About page.
